The company reported that six children suffered severe lacerations to their arms requiring stitches after contacting the exposed bolts. Injuries occurred when children dropped from overhead ladders, fell, or climbed onto the bolts. The swings were sold with Backyard Escapes, Backyard Products, and WOW Wooden Play Centers brand gyms between December 1998 and July 1999 for prices ranging from $250 to $450.

Because the manufacturer is out of business and the repair program is no longer available, consumers should immediately remove the trapeze swings from their gym sets and discard or destroy them to prevent further injuries. Trapeze sets attached by a rope-type assembly are not included in this recall.
