Plain-English summary
Adventure Playsets, dba Backyard Ventures Inc., is recalling approximately 26,000 wooden swing sets. The recalled models include the Durango, Tacoma, Odyssey, Bellvue, Monarch, Grand Teton, and Outlook II. These swing sets feature various slides, swings, and a fabric canopy.
The recall is due to defective bolts that could twist off during installation, causing the swing set frame to detach from the fort structure. This defect poses a fall hazard to users. The company has received 64 reports of bolt heads twisting off, but no injuries have been reported.
The swing sets were sold at Wal-Mart, Menards, and Toys "R" Us stores nationwide and on Wal-Mart.com from February 2006 through March 2006 for about $1,000. Consumers should stop using the swing sets immediately and contact Backyard Ventures to receive repair instructions and free replacement bolts.
