The decals, located on the front, back, sides, and interior panels of the cars, contain high levels of lead. High levels of lead present a poisoning hazard to young children if ingested.

The recalled pedal cars are hot dog-shaped, orange and yellow, and measure about 46 inches in length. They are intended for children aged 3 to 7 years. Oscar Mayer is not aware of any illnesses or injuries involving this product; the recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of illness or injury.

These pedal cars were distributed through special promotions at grocery stores in the U.S. and Canada and sold by mail order from June 1995 through May 1998. They were not available for purchase in retail stores. Consumers should immediately stop children from playing with these pedal cars and call (800) 323-0768 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CDT Monday through Friday for instructions on how to receive new decals to replace the old ones.
