The recall is being issued because the rocks can break apart when heated. This fracture can cause pieces to be ejected from the grill, posing a risk of burns to nearby consumers. Keanall Products is aware of seven incidents where the rocks fractured and pieces were ejected, with one consumer sustaining minor burns. The recalled products were manufactured by CharmBrik & Stone Inc. in Mexico.
The Deluxe Grill Rocks were sold at Wal-Mart retail stores nationwide between January 1998 and April 1998 for about $10. Consumers should stop using these products immediately. They can return the rocks to the store where purchased for a refund or call Keanall Products toll-free at (800) 668-5323 to return the product using the company's overnight mail account. Deluxe Grill Rocks made in the United States are not subject to this recall.
