The hazard exists because the adjustable shoulder strap can become unfastened or separate from the buckles, which can result in an infant falling from the carrier. Gold Bug has received eight reports of straps unfastening or separating, including two reports of infants falling and hitting their heads. The recalled carriers are intended for children from birth to 24 months of age and are packaged in a cardboard box labeled "Carter's Infant Carrier...0-24 months." Style no. 89200 is not included in this recall.
