Evenflo Company Inc. is recalling approximately 205,000 Houdini Portable Playyards in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall involves all Houdini model numbers beginning with 332, which were sold nationwide for about $45 from 1994 through 1996. The model number is located on a tag attached to the bottom of the unit.

The recall is issued because small plastic covers on the "push caps" used to secure the playyard parts may crack and separate. Evenflo and the CPSC are aware of reports of these plastic caps separating. While no injuries have been reported, the separated plastic clips present a choking hazard, and the exposed metal washers underneath may be sharp enough to cut a child. Each playyard contains 16 push caps.

Consumers should inspect the push caps on their playyards for loose, cracked, or missing plastic covers. If any are found, or even if none are found, consumers should call Evenflo at (800) 490-7549 to obtain free replacement push caps, installation instructions, and a free warning label.
