Plain-English summary

Tuesday Morning, Inc. is voluntarily recalling approximately 1,164 Polo wooden cobbler bench toys in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recalled item, model PO-418, consists of a bench, a mallet, and four colored balls. The toys were sold in boxes labeled "POLO TOYS cobbler bench" and "Ages 1 to 3 years."

The recall was initiated because the toy contains balls measuring less than 1.75 inches in diameter, which classifies it as a banned hazardous substance under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. Additionally, small pieces of wood may splinter off if the toy is dropped. These small balls and splinters present a choking or asphyxiation hazard to children under three years old. The toys were sold nationwide in Tuesday Morning stores between October 12, 1995, and December 1, 1995, for approximately $6. No injuries have been reported to date.

Consumers should immediately take the toys away from children and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund. Alternatively, consumers may send the toys to Tuesday Morning, Inc. at 14621 Inwood Road, Dallas, Texas 75244, for a full refund plus mailing costs. For more information, consumers can call Tuesday Morning, Inc. at (800) 457-0099.
