The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and M. Pressner and Co. Inc. are voluntarily recalling approximately 1,000 toy necklaces, model number 8847. The recall involves bags of 12 necklaces featuring large pink hearts, smaller colored hearts, and black beads strung on white elastic cords.

CPSC testing determined that the small beads can come off the necklaces, creating a risk that young children could inhale them into their lungs. To date, neither M. Pressner nor CPSC has received reports of accidents or injuries associated with these products.

M. Pressner distributed the necklaces from July 1992 through June 1994 in the eastern United States. They were sold at Party Warehouse, 99 Cent Stores, and the Center of Town stores for under $1.
