The necklaces consist of a 10-inch black cord with a 7/8-inch-diameter gray metal pendant that features assorted symbols on one side. The metal pendants contain high levels of lead, which poses a risk of poisoning to young children.

The company received one report of a child who swallowed the necklace's pendant, which reportedly resulted in high blood lead levels. The necklaces were sold in vending machines in malls, discount department stores, and grocery stores nationwide from March 2002 through April 2003 for about 50 cents each.
