Schwinn is offering to install or provide a Chainguard Retro Fit Kit at no charge to help prevent potential harm to unsupervised children.
Owners of unmodified units should contact a local authorized Schwinn dealer to arrange for the free installation of the kit (part #90518). If the unit cannot be brought to a dealer, consumers can call Schwinn's Consumer Relations Department at 1-800-633-0231 to have a kit sent for self-installation, though dealer installation is recommended. Additionally, owners should ensure small children do not play on or around the unit and should tighten the tension control knob or secure the unit in a locked room when not in use.
