Schwinn Tone Electric Scooters recalled for fall and injury hazards
Pacific Cycle is recalling about 11,340 Schwinn Tone electric scooters because the handlebar grips can loosen or crack, causing falls and injuries. One consumer fell and sustained bruising and abrasions when the handlebar broke during use.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: One report of actual injury (bruising and abrasions from a fall) has been documented, and the hazard involves risk of falls from a wheeled product where further harm could occur. This exceeds a theoretical-risk scenario and meets the High threshold for risk-of-harm products where injury has been reported.
