PTI Sports Inc. is recalling approximately 9,000 Schwinn-brand Toddler Bicycle Helmets. The helmets do not comply with impact testing requirements established under the Consumer Product Safety Act. The recall affects helmets with "SCHWINN" written on the back and a white label inside reading "Lot# 791913" followed by a date from "12-01-03" through "5-15-04". The label also contains model numbers SK103, SK107, or SK108.
The helmets were sold at Wal-Mart, Target, Academy, and Mills Fleet and Farms stores nationwide from January 2004 through July 2004 for between $17 and $20. The helmets were manufactured in China. No injuries have been reported in connection with the recall.
