Units manufactured by DeLonghi bear a silver sticker on the underside of the metal control box with digits beginning with "80" through "88." A small number of heaters sold under the Sears and Welbilt brand names are also affected; these bear the code number "816F" next to the Underwriters' Laboratories (UL) label on the side of the metal control box.

Owners of these heaters should call 1-800-322-3848 to arrange for a free replacement control panel. The new panels incorporate improved components and design, bringing the heaters up to recent UL standards. The CPSC urges all owners to participate in the program as soon as possible.
