These heaters were sold nationwide since October 1987. To date, there have been no known fires or injuries associated with the defective plugs.

Consumers with affected heaters should discontinue use immediately. They should call R.E. Chapin Manufacturing Works toll-free at 1-800-444-3140 between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. to arrange for a free repair of the heater.
