The recalled items are item CT-8013, a multi-colored plastic rattle with a handle of beads and four bell-shaped noisemakers, and item R0088013, which features three bulbs attached to a handle by flexible stems with metal bells inside. Approximately 115,200 units of each model were sold between July 1987 and January 1988 for $0.35.

The recall is issued because the handles of both rattles are small enough to enter a child's mouth and long enough to reach the back of the throat, creating a choking risk. Additionally, the metal bells inside the rattles can detach. Neither CPSC nor TDT Company is aware of any injuries caused by these products.

Consumers should return the rattles to the retail store where they were purchased to receive a full refund of the purchase price.
