Plain-English summary
McCrory Stores has announced a voluntary recall of approximately 103,000 baby walkers, Reference Number PHT417, made for York Distribution Company. The recall is due to seat and strap designs that could result in injury to a child. The affected walkers are round with a silver metal frame, yellow tray, and multi-colored animal print vinyl padded seat.
The recall follows 30 reported incidents of crotch strap slippage, disengagement, or tearing of the seat material. These defects could allow an infant to fall through the seat to the floor and become caught or entangled. One incident of crotch strap slippage is known to have resulted in a broken collar bone.
The walkers were sold for approximately $15 at McCrory, T.G. & Y, J.J. Newberry, McLellan, H.L. Green, Kress, Silver, Elmore, Britts, and Kittinger stores, as well as other retail stores nationwide. Owners should return the walkers to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers can contact the CPSC toll-free hotline at 800-638-CPSC for more information.
