The hazards associated with these products include strangulation, head entrapment, pinching, laceration, and falling. Specifically, the playpens may have floors that collapse or sharp staples that come loose or protrude, which can trap children's limbs or cause lacerations and choking hazards. CPSC is aware of 19 incidents involving the cribs, several of which involved bruises, and 2 incidents involving the playpens.

Because Baby Furniture Outlet is involved in bankruptcy proceedings and liquidation, the company cannot bear the costs of a traditional recall.
