Affected units can be identified by date code wheels on the battery compartment cover showing one arrow pointing to 25 and the second to 4 or 5, or one arrow pointing to 26 and the second to 3. Additionally, date codes OET 25100, OET 25150, or OET 26064 are printed on the product packaging.

Consumers should stop using the fire truck activity board immediately. They should register at www.melissaanddoug.com/recall to receive a free replacement, a full refund of $30, or $40 in store credit. As part of the process, consumers must remove the batteries, write "RECALL" on the front of the product with a permanent marker, cut the black hose off, upload a photograph of the destroyed product, and then dispose of the item in ordinary household trash.
