Plain-English summary

Goal Zero is recalling approximately 46,200 YETI 3000X portable power stations sold from May 2020 through August 2025. The recalled units are silver and black, measure about 24.4 inches high, 18.5 inches wide, and 22.3 inches deep, and weigh about 92 pounds. They feature yellow handles, a digital display, and sit on a rolling cart with two built-in wheels and a telescoping handle. The Goal Zero logo and "YETI 3000X" are printed on the front bar of the cart and on a nameplate on the underside of the station's lid.

The recall is due to a risk of serious injury from fire and burn hazards. The power station's circuit board can overheat, causing the unit to catch fire, overheat, and smoke. Goal Zero has received four reports of these incidents, but no injuries have been reported.

The power stations were sold at REI stores nationwide and online at Costco.com, Backcountry.com, Goalzero.com, and other online retailers for about $3,000. Consumers should stop using the power stations immediately and install a free firmware update through the Goal Zero application or contact Goal Zero for free installation.
