ECHO EGi-2300 Watt Generators Recalled for Fire and Burn Hazard
ECHO EGi-2300 Watt Generators can overheat and catch fire, posing a fire and burn hazard. The manufacturer has received four reports of overheating or fire, though no injuries have been reported.
What this means for you
Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Our severity reasoning: The source explicitly states no injuries have been reported, and the hazard is based on four reports of overheating or fire without documented harm. This qualifies as a low-risk situation where injury is theoretical, placing it at a maximum of 3. The voluntary nature of the remedy and absence of reported injuries or deaths supports a score of 2 (Moderate).
