eheat, Inc. is recalling about 35,000 Envi high-efficiency electric panel heaters sold in the United States and about 700 units sold in Canada. The heaters were sold online at www.eheat.com and at some specialty retailers between July 2015 and August 2016 for between about $140 and $160. The affected units are white or black, measure about 19 inches by 22 inches by 2 inches, and have model numbers located on the back of the unit in the bottom left corner. The specific model numbers involved are HH1012T, HW1012T, HW1012N, HW1022T, HW1022N, and HH1012T-BK.

The recall is due to improper wire crimping by the manufacturer, which can cause the unit to overheat, smoke, or melt, posing a burn hazard. eheat has received approximately 300 reports of overheating involving the Envi heaters. No injuries have been reported.
