The battery is housed in the vacuum handle and can be identified by the model number ZR0097U2 with a date code beginning with either 23 or 24. These batteries were manufactured before December 2024.

The recalled lithium-ion battery poses a risk of overheating and ignition, creating hazards of fire and burn injury. The firm has received two reports of the battery overheating or failing to charge, plus 65 additional reports globally, though no injuries have been reported to date.

Consumers should immediately stop using the vacuum and remove the recalled battery from the handle. After verification, Rowenta will send a replacement battery at no cost.

The recalled battery must be disposed of according to local and state regulations and cannot be placed in regular trash, curbside recycling bins, or retail battery recycling boxes.
