SCUBAPRO weight pocket D-ring handles can detach during a dive

Plain-English summary

SCUBAPRO Monorail Weight Pockets are being recalled. The accessory attaches to a scuba diving buoyancy compensator device (BCD) and has a black base, a fabric pouch sold in multiple colours and a grey plastic D-ring handle. It was sold in standard and mini sizes and in eight colours. About 2,800 were sold in the United States, in addition to about 40 sold in Canada.

The D-ring handle used to unlock the weight pocket from the BCD can detach during use. If that happens, the user will not be able to remove the weight pocket in an emergency in order to rise to the surface, posing a drowning risk. The firm has received two reports of the D-ring handle detaching. No injuries have been reported.

The weight pockets were sold at specialty dive shops nationwide and online at Scubapro.com and other authorised online retailers from November 2025 through February 2026 for about $200.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Monorail Weight Pocket and register online at https://scubapro.johnsonoutdoors.com/us/recalls for a free repair of the D-ring handle at a local authorised dealer, or to obtain a prepaid shipping label to return it.
