The model and serial numbers are on a sticker on the bottom, and only units with serial numbers in the affected range are included.
The laminators may overheat, posing a burn hazard to consumers. The CPSC notice states that no incidents or injuries have been reported.
About 13,440 units were sold in-store and online at Office Depot, Office Smart and School Specialty from August 2024 through September 2025 for between $100 and $130.
Consumers should immediately stop using and unplug the laminators and contact 3M for a full refund. They will be asked to complete a short form, confirm the laminator is included in the recall and upload a photo of the machine with the power cord unplugged and cut; the refund is mailed as a check once confirmed.
