3M Recalls Scotch Thermal Laminators Due to Overheating Burn Hazard

3M Company is recalling about 395,000 Scotch thermal laminators, model number TL901C, due to a burn hazard. The plastic enclosure of the laminators can overheat, which poses a risk of burns to users. 3M has received 10 reports of the laminators overheating and causing deformation of the bottom of the plastic enclosures, but no injuries have been reported.
The recalled laminators are white with teal accents and measure 14 inches by 3.8 inches by 2.75 inches. The model number TL901C is printed on a sticker on the bottom of the unit. The two side ends, the bottom, and the reverse switch on top are teal. These products were sold at J.A. Riollano and Sam's Club stores in Puerto Rico and online at Amazon.com from July 2015 through March 2018 for about $20. Additionally, about 130 units were sold in Canada.
