The recall is due to improper wiring at the heating coil, which could cause the laminators to overheat and become a fire hazard.

The recalled H300 models have serial numbers starting with "PI," "PJ," "PK," "PL," "QA," "QB," "QC," or "QD." The recalled H200 models have serial numbers starting with "PI" or "PJ." Model and serial numbers are located on the top of the unit and on the rating plate on the bottom. The products were sold at office supply stores nationwide between September 2003 and September 2004 for between $200 and $260.
