Cordless grease guns recalled after hose failures caused five laceration injuries

All affected models have spring ends. The model number is on the manufacturer label on the right side of the grease gun and the serial number is on the battery mounting port, with the affected serial ranges listed in the recall notice. About 62,927 were sold at hardware and home improvement stores nationwide and on various websites from June 2020 through January 2025 for between $60 and $390.
The flexible grease gun hose can develop a hole allowing grease to be ejected while the grease gun is in use, posing a laceration hazard. The firm has received five reports worldwide of the hose failing, including five laceration injuries; all five incidents were reported outside the United States.
Owners should immediately stop using the recalled grease guns and hoses and contact Makita for a free replacement hose.
