The gates measure about 34 inches high with a retractable width of up to 140 inches and have an iron frame, with "Retractable Safety Gate" and the model number on a white label. About 1,400 units are affected.

The stated hazard is that the gates violate the mandatory standard for expansion gates and expandable enclosures because a child's torso can fit through the opening between the gate and the floor, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to entrapment. No injuries or incidents have been reported.

The gates were sold on Amazon from December 2024 through April 2025 for between $55 and $75.

Consumers should stop using the gates immediately and contact Qeyan and Yanyanny for a full refund, which requires destroying the gate by cutting through the mesh and submitting a photo of the destroyed gate.
