Dearlomum retractable mesh safety gates, sold in black, grey and white, are being recalled. The gates have a metal frame, measure about 33 inches high with an adjustable width up to 55 inches, and carry "Retractable Safety Gate" and model number SH20.006D printed on a white label on the side. About 2,200 units are affected.

The stated hazard is that the gates violate the federal standard for expansion gates and expandable enclosures because a child's torso can fit through the opening between the gate and the floor, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to entrapment. No injuries or incidents have been reported.

The gates were sold on Amazon from December 2024 through May 2025 for between $33 and $38.

Consumers should stop using the gates immediately and contact Signbaby for a full refund, which requires disassembling the gates, destroying them by cutting the mesh and emailing a photo of the destroyed gate. Signbaby and Amazon are contacting all known purchasers directly.
