What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: This is a risk-of-harm product where no injuries have been reported. The gate design violates federal safety standards and creates a documented entrapment risk to children, meeting the criteria for High (3) severity.

Plain-English summary

Dearlomum retractable mesh safety gates, sold in black, gray, and white, are being recalled. The gates have a metal frame, measure approximately 33 inches high with adjustable width up to 55 inches, and are labeled with model number SH20.006D.

The gates violate federal standards for expansion gates and expandable enclosures. A child's torso can fit through the opening between the gate and the floor, posing a risk of serious injury or death from entrapment.

Approximately 2,200 units were sold on Amazon between December 2024 and May 2025 for $33 to $38. The gates were distributed by Shaoxing Yishan Garment Co., Ltd., operating as Signbaby, based in China. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should stop using the recalled gates immediately. Contact Signbaby for a full refund by emailing [email protected] or visiting https://kiddoryproducts.com/pages/retractable-safety-gates-recalled-page. Consumers will be asked to disassemble and destroy the gates by cutting the mesh and send a photo of the destroyed gate to receive the refund.
