Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk of serious injury or death from drowning and entrapment hazards to children resulting from improper pool cover installation. Per the rubric, this is a risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported, warranting a High (3) severity score.

Plain-English summary

Endless Pools is recalling about 11,500 manual retractable security pool covers sold between January 1994 and December 2024. The covers were sold nationwide and online through Endless Pools and authorized dealers for between $1,000 and $2,200.

When installed incorrectly by the installer, the pool covers can leave a gap of more than 4.5 inches between the cover roller and the pool surface. This improper installation means the covers do not conform to the voluntary industry standard ASTM F-1346, creating drowning and entrapment hazards for children that could result in serious injury or death.

No injuries have been reported. Pool owners and operators should immediately contact Endless Pools for a free inspection and repair. Until the repair is completed, keep children away from the pool cover when closed, and do not allow anyone—especially children—to sit, stand, or jump on the pool cover at any time.

Consumers can contact Endless Pools toll-free at 800-910-2714 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday), by email at [email protected], or online at https://myendlesspool.com/s/support/product-recalls.
