The recalled seats were sold at BJ's Wholesale Club and Big 5 Corp stores nationwide, and online at Amazon.com, between July 2022 and January 2024 for between $30 and $50.

The bleacher security hooks on these seats can crack and break during use, creating fall and injury hazards. The CPSC received five reports of hook failures, including two falls and one injury involving bruising, headaches, and a pinched nerve.

Affected consumers can identify recalled seats by date code: Berkley Jensen seats have date code "04/2022" on the white tag on the bottom; Black Sierra seats have date codes "05/2022" or "11/2022" on the white tag on the bottom.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled seats. To receive a full refund, consumers must destroy the seat by cutting through the fabric of the seat and backrest, take a photo of the destroyed seat with their initials and date visible, and send the photo to [email protected].
