TJX Foldable Wood and Rope Bistro Set Chairs Recall Due to Fall Hazard
TJX is recalling about 29,000 foldable wood and rope bistro set chairs because the wooden frame can break or collapse when occupied, creating a fall hazard. The company has received eight reports of frame breakage, including six reports of minor injuries such as bruising and ankle strain.
What this means for you
Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves reported injuries (six minor injuries: bruising and ankle strain) from frame breakage, but these are minor injuries without hospitalization, serious injury, or structural vehicle defects. The hazard is confirmed through eight reports of frame collapse, making this a precautionary recall with minor injury history rather than theoretical risk, warranting a Moderate severity score.
