WorkPro Momentum Office Chairs Recalled Due to Fall Hazard from Faulty Bolts

Veyer is recalling about 64,000 WorkPro Momentum office chairs because bolts can fail, causing a fall hazard. Seven incidents have been reported with two minor injuries.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The product has a structural defect causing documented falls (seven incidents), warranting High severity. Although injuries were minor rather than serious, the real-world manifestation of a fall hazard justifies this rating above precautionary recalls.

Plain-English summary

WorkPro Momentum office chairs sold by Veyer LLC are being recalled due to a structural defect in the bolts that connect the chair's back to its base. These bolts can fail and separate, posing a fall hazard to users.

About 64,000 of these ergonomic chairs were sold between October 2021 and September 2024 in black (model 8517865) or gray (model 2864384). The chairs were sold for approximately $430 through Office Depot, OfficeMax, Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and other online retailers.

Veyer has received seven reports of consumers falling out of the recalled chairs, resulting in two minor injuries. The model number can be found underneath the seat cushion.

Consumers should immediately stop using the chair and contact Veyer for a free repair kit, including a back bracket, three bolts, an Allen wrench, decorative cover, and installation instructions with free shipping. Contact Veyer at 833-881-0087 (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT, Monday-Friday), [email protected], or through Office Depot's recall notices.
