What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The source text states that no injuries have been reported. However, the mattresses pose a risk-of-harm to infants (suffocation hazard) due to violations of federal safety regulations. Under the rubric, risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported score as High (3).

Plain-English summary

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled approximately 20,000 Spring Spirit and Biloban pack and play mattresses. These mattresses were sold exclusively on Amazon.com between August 2022 and August 2023 for about $40 each.

The recalled mattresses violate multiple provisions of the federal safety regulation for crib mattresses, including the thickness test, and are missing required warnings and labels. The product poses a suffocation hazard to infants.

Spring Spirit mattresses are trifold with a bamboo pattern print. They display "Spring Spirit" on a tag with batch number 230315US and the manufacture date on another tag. Biloban mattresses are white with "Biloban" and gray stars printed on top and gray on the underside. They display "Biloban" on a hangtag with batch number 2304US and the manufacture date on a stapled tag. Both products were manufactured from August 2022 through July 2023.
