IKEA VARMFRONT Power Banks Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

IKEA is recalling approximately 1,600 VARMFRONT Power Banks (models E2037 and E2038) because the devices can overheat and pose a fire hazard. No injuries have been reported in the United States.

IKEA Supply AG is recalling approximately 1,600 VARMFRONT Power Banks sold in the United States. The recalled units comprise two models: E2037 (with one USB-A port, one USB-C port, measuring about four inches long and two inches wide) and E2038 (with two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, measuring about four inches long and three inches wide). Both models are blue in color.

The power banks can overheat, posing a fire hazard. Model E2037 units have one of the following date codes printed on the bottom of the back side: 2318, 2319, or 2322. Model E2038 units have one of the following date codes: 2313, 2316, 2318, or 2319. IKEA has received three incident reports globally, but no injuries have been reported and no incidents or injuries have been reported in the United States.

The power banks were sold at IKEA stores nationwide and online at www.IKEA.com from July 2023 through March 2024, priced between $17 and $30. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled power banks. They may return them to any IKEA store for a free replacement or full refund without requiring proof of purchase. Consumers unable to return to a store should contact IKEA for disposal instructions to receive a full refund.
