Brookstone-Branded Tabletop Fire Pits Recalled Due to Serious Burn and Fire Hazards

Plain-English summary

Southern Telecom Inc. is recalling Brookstone-branded tabletop fire pits, including model numbers BSFIREPIT01, BSFIREPIT02, and BSFIREPIT03. These products consist of a round or hexagonal concrete open reservoir designed to contain burning liquid alcohol.

The fire pits pose a risk of uncontrolled pool fires if alcohol spills or burns across the surface. Additionally, the products can cause flame jetting from fuel containers, which may result in serious or fatal burns. Two injuries involving second-degree and third-degree burns have been reported.

These products were sold at Macy's, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, Indoff, iBuy, and Newton Buying Corp. stores nationwide and online from February 2023 through December 2024 for between $20 and $25.

Consumers should stop using the fire pits immediately and contact Southern Telecom for a full refund. To receive a refund, consumers can email a photo of the fire pit with "Recalled," their name, and the date written on it in permanent marker to [email protected] and then dispose of the product. Do not sell or give away these products.
