StyleCraft Instinct Cordless Hair Clippers Recalled for Fire and Burn Hazards

StyleCraft is recalling about 50,000 Instinct Professional Vector Motor Cordless Hair Clippers because the lithium-ion battery can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. Six incidents of battery overheating or fire have been reported, including one minor burn.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: This is a risk-of-harm product (fire and burn hazard) where injury reports exist but are limited. The rubric places "risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported" at score 3; the six reported incidents with one minor burn confirm a real hazard but do not escalate to Severe (which requires significant injury reports or FDA/USDA Class I/II designation).
