Lester Electrical of Lincoln, Nebraska, is recalling approximately 19,000 Links Series chargers, models 28080, 28090, and 28100. These chargers are used with golf carts and were manufactured between week 29 of 2014 and week 48 of 2016. The recalled units are black or aluminum and measure approximately 11 inches long by 8 ¾ inches wide by 9 ½ inches tall. The brand name "Lester Electrical" and "Links Series" are printed on the front along with a picture of a golfer.

The recall is due to a defect where the control board can fail and overheat, which poses fire and burn hazards. The company has received 12 reports of failed control boards that showed signs of overheating or burning, but no injuries have been reported. The chargers were sold directly from Lester Electrical, through distributors, and online at www.GolfCartGarage.com from July 2014 through November 2016 for about $400.
