Backyard Play Systems Outdoor Playsets Recalled for Entrapment Hazard

Backyard Play Systems LLC is recalling approximately 5,100 outdoor playsets sold in the United States. The recalled models are Turbo Racer, Cloud Racer, Captain's Fort, and Fort Highlander. These playsets feature a wooden roof with a decorative gable design that poses an entrapment hazard. The wooden parts used to reinforce and create the gable design create a gap between the lower part of the roof structure and the bottom of the gable decoration where children can become trapped.

The affected playsets were sold online through Costco.com (Turbo Racer and Cloud Racer from March 2019 through May 2021) and Lowes.com (Captain's Fort and Fort Highlander from December 2020 through May 2021) for approximately $1,000 each. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled playsets. Backyard Play Systems is offering a free repair kit that includes replacement wood parts, hardware, and instructions. Consumers unable or unwilling to perform the repair themselves can contact the company to arrange a free in-home repair. The manufacturer is contacting all known purchasers directly.
