The lights were sold nationwide between July 2018 and September 2019 through baby boutiques, gift shops, and children's stores—including retailers such as MoMA and Albee Baby in New York City, Aldea Home in San Francisco, the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, and Tabletop in Potomac, Maryland. The lights retailed for about $100. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers who purchased the light at a local retailer should bring it to the store for a free module replacement. Those who purchased online or whose retailer is no longer in business should photograph the blue label on the bottom and the date embossed under the right foot, then email both photos along with their shipping address and phone number to [email protected] to receive an upgraded LED module at no cost.
