Bella Elevator, LLC, d/b/a Symmetry Elevating Solutions, is recalling approximately 10,500 Bella residential elevators manufactured from 2009 to 2021. The recalled models include Symmetry IGD, Hydraulic, and Winding Drum Elevators.

Young children can become entrapped in the space between the exterior landing (hoistway) door and the interior elevator car door or gate if there is a hazardous gap. When the elevator is called to another floor, the exterior door locks, leaving the child trapped in the space between the doors and at risk of being crushed, pinned, or suffering serious injuries or death.

The elevators were sold through a network of authorized dealers and occasionally directly to consumers nationwide from June 2009 to December 2021 for between approximately $20,000 and $35,000 including installation. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should keep unsupervised young children away from the recalled elevators.
