National Presto Industries Inc. is recalling about 25,000 Presto Indoor Electric Smokers, Model No. 0601304 (black stainless steel) and 0601405 (camouflage). The recall is due to a defect in the heating element and wiring, which poses an electric shock hazard to consumers.

The firm has received reports of five smokers tripping circuit breakers and outlets. No injuries have been reported. The smokers were sold nationwide at retailers including Shopko, Sears, Kmart, Belk, Veterans Canteen Store, and other home appliance stores, as well as online at Amazon.com, Wayfair.com, Kohls.com, and Walmart.com, from June 2018 through December 2020 for between $70 and $110.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled smokers and contact National Presto toll-free at 833-909-1524 between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or online at www.gopresto.com/recall, to receive return instructions or a refund. The model number is displayed on a sticker on the underside of the smoker.
