Plant Therapy LLC is recalling approximately 34,000 units of Wintergreen, Organic Wintergreen, Muscle Aid Synergy Blend, Tingly Mint Synergy Blend, and Vein Aid Synergy Blend oils. The recall involves 10 mL, 30 mL, and 100 mL amber glass bottles with black caps sold prior to September 20, 2019. These products contain methyl salicylate, a substance that requires child-resistant packaging under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The current packaging does not meet this requirement, creating a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.
The affected products were sold online at PlantTherapy.com, Amazon.com, Ebay.com, Walmart.com, and Wish.com from June 2018 through June 2019 for between $8 and $40. The recall was issued on March 19, 2020. No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
Consumers should immediately store the product in a safe location out of reach of children. They should contact Plant Therapy at 800-917-6577 or via email at [email protected] to request a free replacement child-resistant cap. When contacting the company, consumers should provide their name, address, the specific product, bottle size, and purchase date. All known purchasers are being notified directly by the firm.
