Sun Organic, of Phoenix, Ariz., is recalling approximately 16,000 bottles of Sun Essential Oils, Wintergreen. The recall includes all 2-, 4-, 8-, and 16-fluid-ounce amber glass bottles sold prior to April 12, 2019. The product contains methyl salicylate, a substance that must be in child-resistant packaging under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The current packaging does not meet these requirements, creating a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.

The recalled bottles were sold online at Amazon.com, Ebay.com, and Walmart.com from December 2014 through April 2019 for between $9 and $33. The label on each bottle displays the Sun Essential Oils logo, an image of an American Wintergreen plant, the word "Wintergreen," and the container size.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported. Consumers should immediately store the product in a safe location out of the reach of children.
