Pass & Seymour Inc. is recalling approximately 685,000 commercial-grade tamper-resistant duplex electrical receptacles. The recall involves specific model numbers and manufacturing date codes found on the product packaging or hot-stamped on the back of the devices. The products were sold nationwide through electrical equipment suppliers and other stores between October 2019 and February 2020 for between $3 and $10.
A manufacturing error within the receptacles could lead consumers to incorrectly force the plug into the receptacle. This action can cause the plug blades to overheat, posing a burn risk to the consumer. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
