Tween Brands Recalls Justice Light Up Bed Canopies Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

Tween Brands is recalling Justice Light Up bed canopies because the canopy lights can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. The recalled products are round, mesh canopies with lights along the trim, available in white, blue, and pink. The specific style numbers included in the recall are 215218, 775218, 215219, 775219, 215220, and 775220.
The company has received one report of a consumer with a burned finger. Additionally, there are 17 reports of the lights melting wiring or the mesh canopy, or overheating. These reports include one instance in Canada where the lights burned a consumer's pillowcase and two other reports of minor damage to nearby bedding. No serious injuries have been reported.
About 23,900 units were sold in the United States and about 950 were sold in Canada. The canopies were sold exclusively at Justice stores nationwide and online at www.shopjustice.com from July 2017 through October 2018 for between $11 and $40. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled canopy and return it to any Justice store for a full refund or store credit. Tween Brands is notifying all known purchasers directly.
