Plain-English summary
Tween Brands Inc., d/b/a Justice, is recalling two styles of beaded door curtains: the diamond beaded curtain and the disco ball beaded curtain. These multi-colored curtains, which measure 72 inches long and are used as decorative dividers, were sold exclusively at Justice stores nationwide and online from August 2010 through March 2011 for approximately $20. The product was manufactured by GMA Accessories Inc. of New York, N.Y., and imported from China. The recall involves tracking numbers 904598.1735 and 904597.1735, which are printed on labels located on the mounting brackets and packaging.
The recall is being issued because the beaded curtains are prone to entanglement. When an adult or child plays with or runs through the curtains, there is a risk of entanglement and strangulation. The firm has received two reports of consumers becoming entangled in the curtains, but no injuries have been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled curtains and return them to any Justice store for a full refund. For additional information, consumers can contact Tween Brands at (800) 934-4497 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the company's website at www.shopjustice.com.
