The recall involves motorcycles with 50cc 2-cycle engines where the letter K is in the 10th position of the vehicle identification number (VIN) located on the right side of the steering head.

The recall is being issued because the throttle can become stuck in the open position, which poses a crash hazard to the rider. No injuries have been reported in connection with this defect.

These motorcycles were sold nationwide through KTM and Husqvarna Motorcycles authorized dealers from March 2018 to December 2018 for about $4,300. Consumers should immediately stop riding the recalled motorcycles and contact an authorized KTM or Husqvarna dealer to schedule a free repair. KTM and Husqvarna are also contacting all known purchasers directly.
