The recall is due to a hazard where the workstation can malfunction, causing the hydraulic gas pressure cylinders to separate and forcefully discharge. Knape & Vogt has received two reports of the gas cylinder separating from the workstation; in one instance, the cylinder discharged from the unit, resulting in damage to drywall in an office. Affected units can be identified by a Lot Number label on the inside of the right-hand top surface bracket, where the lot number ends with the letters "VOL" (e.g., 16-######-VOL, 17-######-VOL, 18-######-VOL, 19-######-VOL).
