The recall involves battery pack product numbers CP556150-03, CP579060-01, and CP629458-03. Approximately 5,800 units were sold in the U.S. and 606 in Canada between July 2012 and December 2017.
The lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, which poses burn and fire hazards to consumers. Fujitsu has received one report of a battery fire in Canada.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled battery packs, power off the laptop, and remove the battery. They should follow instructions to obtain a free replacement battery pack.
